Evaluation of semen parameters of Brahman graded bull compared to Holstein graded and Local bulls us
ABSTRACT An experiment was conducted to characterize, compare, estimate of heritability, and genetic and phenotypic correlations of semen parameters of three genetic groups of bulls. The study was carried out at the Central Cattle Breeding and Dairy Farm, Saver, Dhaka from April to November, 2015. A total of 16 bulls from three genetic groups namely Brahman graded (8), Friesian graded (5) and Local (3) bulls were selected. Motility % and sperm concentration (×106/ml) were observed using Computer Assisted Sperm Analyzer (CASA). Data were analyzed using SAS Computer Package Program, version 9.1.3. Analysis of data showed that, individual genotypes had significant (p<0.05) effect on semen parameters. The maximum sperm concentration (×106/ml) was found as 1516.59±33.07 for Local group (LG), intermediate as 1380.38±19.06 for Brahman groups (BG) and lowest as 1105.03±22.54 in Friesian group (FG), respectively. A Review on Current Repurposing Drugs for the Treatment of COVID-19: Reality and Challenges
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has become a global pandemic with a high growth rate of confirmed cases. Therefore, therapeutic options are desperately urgent to fight with this damning virus. As it may take years to develop a specific therapy of COVID-19, it is urgent to emphasize the repurposing of drugs used for other conditions. This study reviewed the most common drugs for COVID-19 based on available online literature representing the latest in vitro clinical trial database, rational of use, adverse effects, potential toxicities, and US National Institute of Health (NIH) recommendation to use for COVID-19. Association Between REELIN Gene Polymorphisms (rs7341475 and rs262355) and Risk of Schizophrenia: an
Schizophrenia (SCZ) is a destructive neuropsychiatric illness affecting millions of people worldwide. The correlation between RELN gene polymorphisms and SCZ was investigated by previous researches, though the results remained conflicting. Based on the available studies, we conducted this meta-analysis to provide a more comprehensive outcome on whether the RELN gene polymorphisms (rs7341475 and rs262355) are associated with SCZ. A total of 15 studies with 25,403 subjects (9047 cases and 16,356 controls) retrieved from PubMed, ScienceDirect, EMBASE, Wiley, BMC, Cochrane, Springer, MDPI, SAGE, and Google Scholar up to June 2020 were included. Meta-analysis was performed using Review Manager 5.3. The heterogeneity was checked using I2 statistics and Q-test, whereas publication bias was also measured.
